This was a very busy week. We have been working with a young man from Central America for the last couple weeks. He has questions about which church he should join much like Joseph Smith. In fact, after he read the Joseph Smith pamphlet, he said that he was just like Joseph Smith. Prayer has played a huge role for him, and he finally realized when we were talking last night that he should be asking God which church to join. Yesterday we were able to meet with him in his home and invite him to baptism; he said he wasn’t ready now, but that he needs to ask God what the right thing to do is. He said that after he receives his answer he will be baptized. That really was a miracle for us, we were working hard all week, and we set up the appointment after we had visited a member at home and asked them to pray for us. I have an increased testimony of the power of our prayers. Alma 6:6 says, “Nevertheless the children of God were commanded that they should gather themselves together oft, and join in fasting and mighty prayer in behalf of the welfare of the souls of those who knew not God.” Pray for those around you, members or non-members, that know not God. He will answer those prayers as you act in faith, and you will become instruments in the hands of God to bring salvation to their souls.
I know that Christ lives. He is our Savior and Redeemer. He cares about what we care about, and He is ready to rescue lost souls. The question is, will we also be a part of this work?
I challenge you to think of one person this week that you can invite to come closer to Christ and then pray and act. I know that you will see miracles in the lives of those you love and in your own.
Thank you for all of your support and your emails.
