This week we had an amazing experience. We received a referral from the office this week and made plans to call him up to set out an appointment. Unfortunately, the phone number that came in the referral didn’t work. Then as we were doing some area book work later that day, we found the same guy in our area book. It turns out he has met with the missionaries on several occasions and then lost contact for different reasons. We then decided that the best thing we could do would be to just visit him and give him the Book of Mormon and then take it from there. We biked out to his dorf, and he wasn’t home. We thought for a second and then decided that we were there for a reason so we started dooring. Most of the people were nice, but no one was really interested in learning more. Finally it was about time to head back, but as a we passed a house we had the distinct impression that we needed to knock on that door. We found the front door and knocked. The guy that came out to talk with us was a very interesting man. He had so many questions and theories that could be answered by the Book of Mormon. We were able to share the message of the restoration with him and as we bore testimony, we felt the Spirit testify of its truthfulness to this man. He told us that he was really interested in reading the book but that we shouldn’t visit him for a while. He suggested a year. I’m not really sure how long we should wait to re-contact him. Maybe give it a couple transfers.
This was such a testimony to me that God knows what he is doing, even if we are unsure. If we are open to the Spirit, God will guide us to those that are waiting to hear the Gospel. They may not accept it now, but every time we talk to someone about God and bear our testimony of truth, we are building their faith, and we will have joy will those that come into the fold of God.
Thank you so much for your support and love. I pray that you will see that miracles that come when you listen to the Spirit and succeed in doing those things that are necessary. (Winston Churchill)
